Memories long ago,
New parent with first baby,
Waking with joy, resting beside you,
Could life be any better?
And now, in a visit to New York City,
A new beginning with a granddaughter,
Now settled for a moment between
Mother and Grandfather!
Watching an infant from a new view,
Rouses the old memory, and
Ignites the new image with fire!
Hard to believe,
Life could be so good,
When so unfair to some,
To me, filled with thanks.
