FINAL BATTLE by DAVID HOROWITZ

 It has been unusual for me to read a bonafide right wing Republican’s views of national politics. I admit that I appreciated the chance to know exactly how the reality I experience is experienced differently by others. His use of quotations are accurate. It is putting them in context of one’s experience that makes the difference. 

The ultimate point is the person’s experience. 

A person’s education is so important. There are many children who have not had access to even good primary education and so many whose higher education is not much better. It is hard to make up such losses.

Just think in my childhood in the early 1940’s, we had no access to any information apart from the radio. All news were similar since all stations reported the same news. Today, I generally access CNN, ABC, PBS, and BBC. I also “watch” FOX News to be alerted to the information provided by Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingram. It is another world that brings to bear the dichotomy of our nation’s political views. 

David Horowitz does justice to the MAGA republicans. They look at the same phenomenon as the January 6 phenomenon with a totally different view: one sees it at restoring justice to a rigged election The other sees a serious attack on our constitutional government.

Great Story!

There is not often when you can report a great story. As you know, I requested am exam two years ago  because I was having difficulty remembering the names of people I knew and recognized. The scan diagnosed Alzheimer’s Disease. I was alerted to the Boston Center for Memory which was utilized by Eli Lilly to test an research drug for the treatment of Alzheimers. I wanted to participate to potentially help others even if I would not be effected. Further scans indicated that I did not have sufficient Tau Protein to comply with the research. 

Sometime later I was called about a study being open to those who did not qualify. It was an Phase 3 open label study where all participants would receive the research drug monthly. So monthly, I have received an infusion with MRI and PET scans  every quarter.

I was called today by the director of the center, Dr Solomon, to hear the report that I would no longer be receiving infusions. My recent PET scan showed that the amyloid in my brain was consistent with the normal population. I will have monthly clinical visits with scans every 3-4 months. to check for redeveloping amyloid. 

So, it goes to show that doing something that may benefit others at times may be a personal gift. I not only helped the world of Alzheimers, but will live knowing that I was a recipient.
