Maggie Mae has been a very special gift to us, more than our initial expectations ever imagined. She has given us (actually, anyone she meets) such love and joy. She exudes happiness whether the food she eats, being close to us (or others). She loves people, in general, and other dogs, especially if they want play with her. Her affection is so striking as is her eye contact when we talk to her.
Admittedly, she too is so fortunate that we have time to give her so much attention. Whenever she wants something, she sits at your feet and uses her eyes to communicate her needs. And the eyes are so striking that you cannot escape such intensity.
Coved-19 has been a strain for many families as they comply with the need to comply with the directions of the Governor and public health officials. Admittedly, being retired makes the restrictions relatively easy. We miss seeing our grandchildren, but our needs are ameliorated by FaceTime. And, we have Maggie Mae who never ceases to make us happy. She is everything we could have dreamed to have for a pet. The quarantine only enhanced the pleasure.
